M.E.S College of Engineering , the first Engineering College established under the self financing sector in Kerala is situated on the beautiful and serene banks of Nila or Bharathapuzha. It was established as an institution with minority status in 1994. Widely acknowledged as one of the premier institutions imparting technical education in the state, the college offers admission to all categories of students with special consideration to educationally backward communities. At present there are eight undergraduate programmes including B Arch and ten post graduate courses in M Tech, MCA, MBA and M Arch In the college. Nearly 3000 students study here under the guidance of over 240 qualified faculty members and research guides.

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERTAKING (MoU) Signed

MES College of Engineering , Kuttippuram, Kerala(MESCE) and Asian Institute of Technology(AIT), Thailand are on the way to sign a Memorandum of Understanding for academic cooperation related to R & D and future development in various fields of Science, Engineering and Technology.
A team consisting of Prof. P.O.J. Lebba, General Secretary of MES, Mr. K.K. Aboobacker, Chairman, MESCE, Dr. K.P.Mohammed, Director, MESCE, Dr.Sasidharan Shreedharan, Prof. and Head, CSE dept and Prof. Sajeer Karattil, Asst. Prof. CSE dept visited AIT on26th Dec. 2018 and had meetings with the Director, President and senior academicians and other members of administrative staff and faculty membes.
The visiting team and members of AIT agreed after detailed discussion that both institutions will work together in teaching, research and sponsored projects for mutual benefit of both. Dr. Kumar, Vice President will liaise with MESCE for future activities.

        

MESCE Global Alumni Meet at Sharjah

9th Nov 2018, a great day that gave a golden opportunity for our alumni to engage with the best of the best from the business and social fraternity has made MESCON'18 an unforgettable day in our life. We are ever grateful to Dr. Tharoor for accepting our invite and flying down to share his words of wisdom with our alumni, in spite of his health concerns.
                             Dr. P.A. Fazal Gafoor, President, MES appreciated the efforts of the MESCE Global Alumni in hosting Dr. Shashi Tharoor M.P and other eminent dignitaries. He stated that MESCON’18 has set a new standard for the alumni event and raised the performance bar for other engineering college alumni bodies to follow.

Faculty Development Programme on Electric and Hybrid Vehicle

Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized a Faculty Development Programme on Electric and Hybrid Vehicles at M.E.S College of Engineering, Kuttippuram from 16 th -20 th July 2019 . The FDP aims to provide opportunities to enrich the theoretical and technical knowledge of faculty members of various Engineering colleges. The programme is also intend to develop the knowledge of participants for simulation with advanced software in the area of Electric and Hybrid vehicles. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Mohammed Bedeeuzaman,Vice Principal, MESCE, Kuttippuram. Dr.Nafeesa K, Head of the Department of EEE detailed the significance and relevance of the FDP. Dr. Sasidharan Sreedharan, Head of the Department CSE, MESCE, Kuttippuram and Dr. Ajaya Babu, Asst.Prof, EEE Department, NSS College of Engineering, Palakkad were also emphasized the benefits of this kind of FDP and facilitated the function. MES Journal of Technology and Management

The MES Journal of Technology and Management was started by MES College of Engineering Kuttippuram in 2010 to disseminate state-of-the-art information about theory, practice, research and innovation in the field of Technology and Management. This national journal provides a platform to unite academic researchers, practicing engineers and students together to share their ideas and research findings to debate with the international community of researchers on these areas of concern.

The regular issue is published on yearly basis in every January. The objective of the journal is to capture innovations and challenges in technical and management practices and their subtle exposition in current researches. In line with the objectives of the journal, the editors seek articles, review papers and research papers for publication. All articles and papers are referred for independent review by peer experts. The articles may be sent to mesjtm@mesce.ac.in

National Seminar on Disaster Management 2017

Prof POJ Lebba inaugurated the National Seminar on Disaster Management 2017 on August 21st at MESCE Kuttippuram. He could insist the students to understand the manmade disasters and how to avoid these by ensuring the rules and regulations. Principal Dr V A Sonny mentioned about the importance of conducting these kind of seminars in educating students and society. Director Dr. K P Mohammed explained the safety measures to be taken care of in construction and in industries to ensure the safety of labors. Dr. Syed Jalaludeen shah gave an introduction about the seminar and its importance in current scenario. 

 

Mr. Bibhuthi Bhusan Gadnayak , Coordinator , UNICEF discussed about the preparedness , Mitigation measures related to Flood and Hurricane Management in Assam, Orissa and in African Countries.

Dr. Sue McNeil , Professor and Chair University of Delaware USA  explained the importance of doing research in Resilience related to Hurricane and Flood, based on her experience in this area. 

Dr. Santhosh kumar, KERI, Peechi delivered a nice introduction about trauma care and Dr. Sasidharan Sreedharan , HoD Computer Science, MESCE could deliver a talk on Man-Made Disasters in the Past, Present and its Remedial Measures. more

Internet of Things & M2M

Department of IT, MES College of Engineering Kuttipuram, in association with Department of ECE and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) organized Two day Hands-on Workshop on “Internet of Things & M2Mfor PG/UG students on 18th &19th August 2017. 

              The Internet of Things has the potential to transform our economy, society and how we actually live our lives. Both the digital and physical worlds are coming together through IoT, a combination that will likely revolutionize our lives, and unleash infinite possibilities. In this workshop, 12 external participants and 90 internal participants were attended. The participants have learned about core and advanced aspects of IoT such as hardware platforms, embedded design, underlying protocols and standards, cloud connectivity and also got hands-on experience to imagine, design and build connected devices in an end-to-end IoT scenario. At the end of the workshop, participants got an opportunity to build modules for smart city by smart connected device and gained profound knowledge of IoT/M2M protocols and related state-of-the-art.In summary, the program was useful for internal as well as external participants for familiarizing the latest research issues related to Internet of Things and its applications in smart city.

  

FabLab - MESCE

A Fabrication Laboratory (FABLAB) is a technical prototyping platform for innovation and invention which aims at providing stimulus for students and serves as a platform for learning and innovation. It is a small scale workshop offering Digital Fabrication which empowers students and other users to create smart devices for themselves which can be tailored to local or personal needs. The FABLAB also becomes a medium for connecting to a global community of Learners, Educators, Technologists, Researchers and Innovators- essentially becoming a self-sustaining global knowledge sharing network. 

                             Fab Labs (digital fabrication laboratories) were set up to inspire people and entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into new products and prototypes by giving them access to a range of advanced digital manufacturing technology. The Fab Lab was designed around the emerging possibility for ordinary people to not just learn about science and engineering but actually design machines and make measurements that are relevant to improving the quality of their lives and the communities around them. more 

 

         

DISTINGUISHED LECTURE SERIES

The Departments of Information Technology and Computer Science & Computer Science and Engineering, MES College of Engineering Kuttipuram, is jointly organized Distinguished Lecture Series on “Next Generation Multi-core Systems - An Architectural Outlook”  by Dr. John Jose, IIT Guwahati for faculty members, research scholars and PG/UG students on 13th July 2017 (Thursday) from 10.00 AM to 12.30 AM. The aim of the Distinguished Lecture Series is to bring experts from premier institutes in the country like, IIT’s, NIT’s, etc. and from industries for the benefit of our students. Another motive of the program is for creating a platform for our students to get internship opportunities and collaboration in terms of MOU with the research labs (under the invited faculty) in premier institutes.

 Dr. John Jose is an assistant professor in CSE Dept, IIT Guwahati, since July 2015. He did his doctoral research from IIT Madras and M. Tech at VIT Vellore. His research interest is in computer architecture with a special focus to performance optimization related to on-chip memory and communication aspects of multi/many core processors.  

The talk was really motivating for the students for familiarizing the latest concepts on Multi-core computer systems and research issues related to the area. Altogether 18 faculty members and 71 students were attended the program. In summary, the program was useful for both students as well as faculty members in the institution for familiarizing the latest research issues going in the premier institutes in India.

MES College of Engineering, Kuttippuram & MES College of Architecture, Kozhikode has signed MoU with Morgan State University, MSU in Baltimore, Maryland, USA for academic cooperation and research activities. Prof. Suzanne Frasier, Associate Professor in Architecture, MSU who facilitated this association visited the College on 14-01-2016.
